WHAT MEDICATIONS DO YOU USE TO TREAT OPIOID DEPENDENCE?
We treat opioid dependence with buprenorphrine & naloxone (Suboxone).
WHAT IS SUBOXONE?
Suboxone is a prescription medication that is composed of a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine itself is a partial opioid agonist which works on the same receptors in the brain that opioids do, yet without producing the full effects of opioid narcotics. It essentially takes over the brain’s opiate receptors, reducing cravings and symptoms of withdrawal that would typically be experienced in the absence of opioids. Naloxone is considered an opioid antagonist, otherwise referred to an as opioid blocker, and works by counteracting the negative effects that opioids have on the body. Suboxone, helps deny the painful and uncomfortable symptoms that accompany opioid withdrawal and is free from the cravings for the drug that typically overpower opioid addicts.

Accepted forms of payment are cash, credit/debit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover).
HOW MUCH DOES THE MEDICATION COST?
Most insurance companies cover a portion of the costs of medication with a prior authorization.
* If you do not have insurance a discount card will be provided to you on your first appointment that will help with the cost of medication.
WHAT IS A PRIOR AUTHORIZATION?
A prior authorization is an insurance companies agreement to pay for a portion of the cost of medication or services as long as certain criteria are met.
The typical criteria include:
Program compliance
- Continuous clean urine drug screens
- Clean prescription monitoring reports
- Proof of counseling
- Other additional factors depending on the requirements of your insurance company
DOES NUVITASGROUP HELP WITH MY MEDICATION PRIOR AUTHORIZATION?
The NuVitasGroup staff will facilitate the prior authorization process with insurance companies. Insurance companies response time is around 24-72 hours.
